Charles "Jimmy" Ross Valantine

Valantine, Charles "Jimmy" "Dirt Track" - Peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Extendicare Georgetown. Jimmy lived life to the fullest for each and every one of his 101 years. Loving husband of Ruth for 64 years. Dearest brother in law of Millie Timbers, and cherished uncle of Joanne (Tom Ware), Terry Timbers, Carol (Wally Stacey) and Ken Horton. A proud great uncle, Jimmy will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. A member of the Georgetown Fire Department (1938-1980) and Deputy Fire Chief (1968) and Lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #120, Jimmy put his all into everything he was involved in; The Lorne Scotts pipe band (1937-1946), First Drum Instructor of the Georgetown pipe Band (1935-1970), member of the Yellow Jacket Motorcycle Club, The Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group and even lawnmower repair into his 80's. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home (11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave.) 905-877-3631 on Monday, August 22 from 7-9 p.m. A Legion Service will be held prior to visitation at 6:45 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Following the service all are welcome to raise a glass in Jimmy's memory at the Royal Canadian Legion-Branch #120, 127 Mill Street, Georgetown.
