Cesar Pontes

Pontes, Cesar- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cesar Pontes after a brief illness with brain cancer at Trillium Health Centre on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in his 56th year. Born on February 17, 1958 in Sao Miguel, Portugal, Cesar lived in the Azores and moved to Canada at 16 years of age where he lived in Mississauga, and most recently in Georgetown, Ontario. Cesar worked briefly at Mack Truck followed by American Motors, which was later acquired by Chrysler Canada until he retired at the age of 49 in 2007. His early retirement allowed him more time to spend with his family and enjoy life. Cesar will be dearly missed by his wife of 17 years, Sheryl Pontes; his daughter Christina (Alejandro); and his daughter Megan. He was predeceased by his parents, Laurenio and Albertina Pontes. Cesar is a dear brother to Jose (Missao); and sisters Armenia (Honorato); Lilia and Noemia. He will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 4th at 10 am at Holy Cross Church, (14400 Argyll Rd., Georgetown). Interment Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Georgetown.
