Catherine "Cathy" Agnes Hunt

Hunt, Catherine “Cathy” December 24, 1927 - January 2, 2025, it is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cathy on January 2, 2025 in her 98th year. She was so pleased to be able to celebrate her 97th birthday on Christmas Eve surrounded by her family. She is now reunited with her husband of 57 years, Gordon Hunt, who predeceased her in 2017.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children Ann (Steve Mann, deceased 2023), Ed (Heidi Taylor), and Mary (Kevin Moxey), and her five grandchildren, of whom she was so proud, Kirsten, Rebecca, Natalie, Trevor and Emily. She was a woman of very strong faith and she will be missed by her family at Maple Avenue Baptist Church, especially her dear friend Jan Raymond.

As a long time resident of Georgetown, she was never one to sit still and was involved in countless organizations. Her and Gord set a wonderful example of what it meant to contribute to one’s community. She was the last surviving founding member of the Georgetown Little Theatre, an organization that she and Gord supported into their nineties. Always busy, always involved, and a teacher by trade, her true passion was being a wife and mother.

Her family would like to acknowledge the wonderful and caring staff at Mountainview Residence, especially each and every staff member on Willow Lane, where she passed. They created a home for her where she knew she was loved and cared for, and for that she was always so grateful.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 177 Maple Avenue, Georgetown, on Thursday January 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Donations in Cathy’s memory can be made to the Georgetown Little Theatre (GLT) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
