Bridget Ann "Buds" Syme
Peacefully in the presence of family on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Georgetown Hospital. Bridget, 89 years of age, beloved wife of the late Andrew Syme for 56 years. Loving mother of Pat and her husband Mike Warman and Ian and his wife Sonja. Proud and devoted grandmother "Nana" of Ashley, A.J. and Craig. Survived by her brother John Rocks and his wife Mary and her sister-in-law Rea Rocks. Predeceased by her sisters Helen Pass, Trisha Lafferty, Cathy McNaughton, Julia Hepburn and Mary Hannigan, her brothers Thomas, Frank and Jimmy Rocks, her sister-in-law Nan Rocks her brothers-in-law David Coyne, Eric Pass, Gerard Lafferty, Benny McNaughton, John Hepburn and Jim Hannigan, her nephews Dave Coyne, Peter Skoretz and Stuart Hepburn and her niece Peggy Hannigan. Bridget will be sadly missed by Maria Coyne, Bill and Donna Coyne, Cheryl Coyne, Cath Skoretz, Cate and John Plimmer, Anna Bechard and all her family and friends.
Bridget was a WWII Vet serving from 1942 - 1945 with Auxiliary Territorial Services. She also has served 49 years with the Catholic Womens League, 45 years with the Royal Canadian Legion and 45 years with the Red Cross.
Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, (905) 877-3631 on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church (14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown) on Wednesday July 17th at 10:00 am. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
