It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Bonnie Marie MacLeod (née Hancock) on January 31st at the age of 66, after a fierce, relentless battle with Covid.
Bonnie leaves behind her devoted husband Bob with whom she spent the last 34 years, side by side. Bonnie was a proud mother to her children: John (Michelle), Marie, Donnie, Dylan and Kaitlyn (Alex). Family meant everything to her and she was the happiest when everyone was gathered around her table laughing and playing games. Bonnie will undoubtedly continue to watch over her greatest treasures, her granddaughters Emma and Megan. Predeceased by her loving parents Charlie and Clarise Hancock of Glen Williams, her dear brother Jim (Monica) and dear sister Shirley (Jim), she is survived by her cherished siblings, Gail (Earl), Gord, Cindy (Stuart), Darlene (Andy) and Mark (Rhonda). She was an aunt and great aunt to so many and looked forward every year to the new baby or baby announcement at the Hancock Reunion.
Together, Bonnie and Bob set an example of hard work and the importance of tradition while raising their family. When not hosting or attending family dinners, their weekends were spent amongst the very best of friends at their trailer in Maple Leaf Acres. Bonnie will be dearly missed by so many and we all wish we had more time with her.
At her request, Bonnie has been cremated and there will not be a funeral, but a celebration of life to be held at a later date. In memory contributions to the Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington would be appreciated.
