After a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday December 13, 2012, surrounded by her family at the Georgetown Hospital, exactly 1 year and 1 month from the date of her mother's passing. Betty, in her 68th year, beloved wife of Joe Power. Loving mother of Janet (Mark) Drurey, David, Peter (Melanie) and Christine (Adam) Da-Ponte. Proud nana of Taylor, Brandon, Jordy, Jay, Lucas, Corson, Caleb, Daniel, Samantha and Ashley. Loved sister of Allan (Bette-Mae), Bonnie Beam and Denise Boyd. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Lucille Stokes. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, (905) 877-3631 on Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, December 18 at 11:00 am. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown.
