It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of my mother, Bernadette Hill on May 28 at approx. 2:20 a.m. Born in Walsall, England as a twin and immigrated to Canada in 1977 for a better life. She worked as a printer until her health deteriorated. My mom struggled with cancer for the last 18 years. Like a trooper she never complained. She volunteered for Lions Club in Picton and Georgetown and was a member of the Red Hats and spent many hours at the Seniors Centre in town. In her earlier days she loved fishing. She spent many hours at Cote Terrace playing Skip Bo and Rummikub and watching the birds from her recliner. Her favourite restaurant was Swiss Chalet and she spent lots of time there with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Ivan R. Hill and her brothers, Barry Bentley and Terry Bentley and her twin sister, Christine Barnett and sister, Lynda Fletcher. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren David and Nicole Hill and daughter in law Ana Hill. A Celebration of Life is being held to honour my mother and to honour the mark she made in this world. This celebration will be held in July. We are asking that any memorial gifts be given to Georgetown Hospital in her name. If you would like to be part of celebration, please send an email to ivanrhill@bell.net.
