"Think kindly of me if you can,
if not, please forgive our differences. Life is too short to dwell on the small stuff."
Barbara left us on January 29th, 2014 after a long hard fight with pulmonary fibrosis. She was on the waiting list for a double lung transplant, but unfortunately there were no suitable donors. Barbara was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Margaret Wright. She is survived by Paul her husband for 46 years, her sister Judy Lawday (Robert) and her niece Heather Parker (Alley, Robert and James). Barbara always gave her all, whether as a Walter Thornton Model, a programmer for IBM (in the days of punched cards), a materials manager for Fruehauf Trailer and Bombardier or a consultant implementing SAP Installations for major corporations worldwide. She was also active with the Georgetown Cancer Society in the 70's, both as president and head of their annual campaign. More recently she assisted her husband Paul in his involvement with the development of the Gallery (Georgetown's Seniors' Independent living residence). According to Barbara's wishes, there will be no memorial service. She has been cremated (except for an organ donation for medical research). In the spring, when her beloved flowers are out, she will be laid to rest in a private burial service. If you want to honour her, do a good deed, help someone you don't know well, donate to your favorite charity, but most of all consider becoming an organ donor.
"DON'T BURN OR BURY ORGANS, BEQUEATH THEM."
