Barbara Jean Munro

Munro (DeLong), Barbara Jean - Peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 at home in Georgetown.

Barbara, in her 82nd year, beloved wife of Bruce Munro for 58 years. Loving and devoted Mom to Cameron Ross, Jennifer (Jeff) and Andrew. Cherished and adoring Nana of Emily and Hannah.

A long standing member of the UCW, Barbara will be remembered for her tireless work with Ballinafad United Church and St. Andrew’s United Church. She was kind and generous with her time, always willing to offer support to a friend or congregation member who needed it. She will be greatly missed.

Friends and family will be received at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

A funeral service to honour and celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.

Cremation has taken place.

Our family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Megan Daly, Dr. Mallika Kapur, the Acclaim Health team and nursing staff from Georgetown Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (C.A.S.H.H.) or St. Andrew’s United Church of Georgetown would be appreciated.
