Barbara Hutzal

Hutzal, Barbara Joan – Peacefully, with family by her side, on Monday, January 9th, 2023 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Barbara Hutzal (nee Ambrous), formerly of Georgetown, beloved wife of the late Henry for 52 years. Loving mother of Brad (Jennifer) of Angus, Jennifer (Eran) Andrechek of Okemos, Michigan, Brent (Carolyn) of Kitchener, and Jodi Andrechek-Noyes (Brad Noyes) of Belle Vallée and mother-in-law of the late Shawn Andrechek.

Barbara was an extremely proud Nana, blessed with 14 grandchildren. Dear sister of Jackie Ambrous of Guelph. Dear sister-in-law of Linda (the late David) Ryan of Ripples, New Brunswick.

Barb was involved in her beloved Maple Avenue Baptist Church, for over 50 years. Her true passion was teaching and caring for preschoolers – she was supervisor at Little Cherub Nursery School in Georgetown for 38 years, a pillar in the community for high-quality early childhood education. Barb served on the advisory council at Heritage College and Seminary for 24 years, including the position of Chair for two terms. Barb had an immense love for these places and for the people with whom she served.

Friends will be received for Visitation at Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 177 Maple Avenue, Georgetown on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1PM until time of funeral service in the church at 2PM. Reception to follow in the church Fellowship Hall.

Private family interment at Coningsby Cemetery, Hillsburgh will take place in Spring 2023.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Heritage College and Seminary would be appreciated.
