Barbara “Barb” Evelyn Eady (nee BEST)- passed away peacefully at Extendicare Halton Hills with family by her side on February 26, 2026 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of Don for 70 years. Dear mother of Donny (Jeannette), Diane Weber (Mike) and Heather MacKenzie (Gord). Proud “Nana” of Michael (Jodi), Melissa (Craig), Kelsy, Tori, Matthew, Jennifer (Mitch), Ryan and Brett. Great grandmother to Paislee, Lily, Andi and Willy. Barbara is survived by her brother Bob (Marion) and sister Jean (Dennis). She was predeceased by her parents Joe and Lucy and sisters Phoebe and Marg and brothers Tom, Bill, Jim and Earl. Barb will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Barb and Don stayed very active in their retirement years, swimming at the YMCA and spending time playing golf. She was an avid horseshoe player, whose name you can often find on the championship trophy. She also loved 5 pin bowling, reaching a high score of 410! Her love for sports has been passed down to her children and grandchildren. Barb and Don loved watching them play hockey, ringette, lacrosse and baseball. They spent many, many hours in arenas.
Weekends were often spent at the cottage on the Severn River making memories with family and friends. Barb had a great love for music which she instilled in her children.
The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Extendicare Halton Hills for their care, kindness and compassion.
Cremation has taken place.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 10 – 11 a.m. A Memorial will take place in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Followed by a reception in the Trafalgar room.
If desired, donations to Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
