Arthur Gilbert “Gil” Deveaux

Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Respected Business Owner

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Gilbert “Gil” Deveaux, who passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025 in Georgetown, Ontario. Gil was a beloved husband to Colette, a loving father to his son Daryl, and a caring father-in-law to Ashley. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Sophie and Paisley, who brought him immense joy and pride. Family was at the heart of everything Gil did, and his love and guidance will be forever treasured. Gil was the longtime owner of Gil’s Auto in Brampton, Ontario. where he worked as a dedicated and highly respected mechanic for over 35 years. Known for his honesty, skill, and work ethic, he built lasting relationships with his customers and earned a reputation for being someone you could always count on.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Jeanette Deveaux, and his siblings: Gary, Wayne, Rita, Lisa, and Gail, extended family Claude, Lise, Francine, Linda. He is predeceased by his father George, father in-law Rene Frappier, Mother in-law Lea Gaudet, sisters Diane and Patricia, Brother in-laws Roy and Andy, niece Charlene and nephew Allan, whom he now joins in peaceful rest.

Gil will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous heart, and gentle spirit. His legacy of love, humility, and hard work will live on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.

Family and friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Friday July 18th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 .
