Arlete Da Silva

Da Silva, Arlete Gabriela - Gone too soon, now free from pain and at peace. Arlete passed suddenly on August 15, 2025, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, at the age of 86. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Celestino, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Cherished mother of Anna, and devoted grandmother of Shelby and Jordan. Arlete was predeceased by her parents, Fernando and DeOlinda, and by her brother, George. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and many friends.

Arlete was kind, forgiving, funny, loyal, and endlessly generous-she would have given the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She lovingly divided her time between Canada and the Azores, embracing both sides of her heritage. She found joy in reading and treasured every moment spent with her husband. Above all, Arlete will be remembered for her caring heart and her deep love for her family.

She especially delighted in the sight of the first robin each year, calling it "the first sign of spring." Her family will forever keep watch for robins, knowing they are a gentle reminder of their beloved Arlete.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Cross Parish, 14400 Argyll Rd, Georgetown, on Thursday, August 21st at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place following the service, with a reception held afterwards at the church hall.
