Alvin Weisbrot

Weisbrot, Alvin - of Acton Ontario, passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital on March 19, 2014 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Marian for 53 years. Loving father of Cheryl (Peter), Darlene (Mike), Trevor (Lisa), and Kevin (Michelle). Proud Grandfather of Christopher, Blair, Sarah, Jason, Victoria, Jessica, and Amanda. Predeceased by his father Daniel, his mother Alma, and sister Lillian. Alvin will also be missed by all of his nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alvin was born is Markinch, Saskatchewan and spent his early childhood raised on a farm. His working career was with the F.W. Woolworth Company where he was a dedicated and successful employee for 39 years. Alvin spent his retirement taking care of his acreage in Acton, visiting relatives and friends across Canada, and vacationing in Florida. His loving dedication to his family will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 100 Mountainview Road South, Georgetown, at 11:00 am on Monday March 24, followed by a reception at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at (www.cancer.ca) or the Lutheran Hour Ministries through the Lutheran Laymen's League (http://lll.ca/). Also, in memory please consider giving blood as it was the gracious donations of others that helped Alvin through his remaining months.
