Alma Barake

Barake, Alma- Peacefully, on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her home in Georgetown. Alma, in her 74th year, wife of the late Felix Barake. Loving mother of Omar and his wife Angela and Nisha and her husband Evan. Devoted Oma of Ivy, Quinn, Grayson and Chloe. Alma was a dedicated school teacher for over 40 years. Alma taught ESL to adults, primary and secondary school, special ed and cooking classes. Alma will be remembered for her gourmet cooking, dinner parties and incredible curry. The family would like to thank all of her friends, family and caregivers who helped and supported her through her struggle with ALS. Friends will be received at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral and committal service will be held in chapel on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donation to the ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated.
