It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Alison Joyce Colter while surrounded by family and friends, on Wednesday February 20, 2013, in her 47th year. Alison is survived by her husband of 25 years, John Colter and Daughters Kristina and Jessica. Daughter of Tony Marrows and Joyce Marrows (Boulden), Sister of Paul Marrows and his wife Julie Marrows (Cunningham), Peter Marrows and his wife Sue Marrows (Clutterbuck), and Robert Marrows and his wife Diane Marrows (Trebell).
For over 2 decades, Alison was the Office Manager and Supervisor for Ann's Cartage and Piano Movers. Alison always went above and beyond to ensure the customer's move smooth and comfortable. She was a founding Executive Member of the Region of Halton Dart League and an executive for many other years including 2011 to 2013. For the past several years, Alison and her mother, volunteered many hours helping the Acton Seniors Center with the kitchen, organizing meals, Tea Room and Bazaars. She also ventured on many seniors' bus trips. Alison loved to travel to England and Las Vegas and cruises to the Caribbean Islands and Hawaii. Alison was a loving and compassionate person who will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends and her memories will live long in all of us.
Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, (905)877-3631 on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday February 25th at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow.
