Adam Carr

Adam James Gilbert Carr, 47 years of age, of Georgetown, Ontario, died suddenly on August 17, 2025. Born on May 24, 1978, in Montreal, Quebec, Adam was the child of Frank and Susan Carr. Adam attended aviation school at Seneca College and then trained to be an air traffic controller at Nav Canada in Cornwall. He was employed by Nav Canada starting in 2003 and as an Air Traffic Controller at Toronto Pearson International Airport for over ten years, starting in April 2014, until the time of his death. A devoted husband and proud father, Adam married Holliday Roberta Larabie in Toronto on June 28, 2009, with whom he had two children, Tessa and Adelaide. His daughters were the light of his life. He is survived by his wife, Holliday, their two daughters, Tessa and Adelaide, his sister, Angela, and his mother, Susan. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank. Adam will be deeply missed by his family and friends for his caring, generous, thoughtful and mellow attitude. Adam was passionate about sports, particularly snowboarding, baseball, and hockey. Fans of women's hockey, Adam and his daughter Tessa were seasonal ticket holders to the Toronto Sceptres games. He enthusiastically attended Tessa's first season playing hockey with the Twisters and was excited she had made the rep team for the upcoming season. Additionally, Adam was (of course) a loyal Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. He enjoyed playing baseball in a recreational league, with the "Grounders." As a snowboarder, he was tenacious and fast, challenging friends and family to races down the slopes. Adam also loved music, learning bass guitar as a teenager, and throughout his life attending many concerts. He was an avid dancer, too (he could dance for hours). A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 11 am, at Jones Funeral Home in Georgetown. The visitation will be on Friday, September 12, from 5-8 pm.
